Notice

This portion of our Web site is where we are storing and distributing things that are rather large and which we don't expect to have accessed very often. These pages are stored on the Macintosh at our house that serves as our gateway to the internet. It's usually, but not always, connected to the Internet. I disconnect it when I work from home, for instance, and if no one is accessing the net when the system disconnects from the Internet it can be the good part of a day before we reconnect. Since the system is connected to the internet via a 56K line, you may find that large images and files stored here are slow to download.

This page contains various pictures of our family. A similar page exists on my home page at Mac.com, Apple's MacOS 9 iTools portal. The pictures on both pages are basically whatever family pictures I have that I think are cool.

My father, late in life
This is one of the last best pictures taken of my father. He was the family photographer so there are the fewest pictures of him. He's sitting here in the front yard of my folks' house. Both my mother and I think there's something about his mouth in this shot that looks a lot like his mother, Grace Burrows, who we called Gam.

Ian, at the guitar store
This shot of Ian was half taken to finish a roll, and half to capture him in what seems to be becoming his natural habitat, the guitar store. He look so much the classic musician that I had to snap the shot. He caught me doing it and gave a sullen glare that really does something for the picture.

Selma and Ljösalf
This is Selma and our cat, Ljösalf almost immediately after our latest vacation to DisneyWorld. Ljösalf was not at all happy about having been deserted for two weeks, and so apparently decided to insure that Selma -- her favorite person -- at least couldnn't get away too easily.

JimB at Glastonbury Tor
This is me in front of Glastonbury Tor in Somerset, just north of where my Aunt Ruth (my mother's sister) and Uncle Michael live. Ruthie, whom we've called Foofi ever since my sister couldn't pronounce Roofi, the best I had been able to do on "Ruthie", gave us all a scare last August when she got critically ill. My mother, sister and I rushed to Glastonbury. Foofi got a lot better quite quickly, no doubt in part due to all the attention -- and the ice. It was my first trip to the West Country, so Katey and I did a bit of sight seeing between our once or twice daily trips to the hospital. Katey took this shot on our way up Glastonbuty Tor.

We came back on the day of the 1999 solar eclipse, so a couple days earlier, when we were in Glastonbury it was pretty busy with New Age pilgrim's including one very pregnant lady we suspected might be hoping to give birth to the re-incarnated Merlin.

Camping at DisneyWorld
This picture is our camp at Fort Wilderness in DisneyWorld during the aforementioned vacation. You can see the three tents in the background.

Li'l Annie
This picture is of my mother at the seashore whe she was a little girl. The original picture is a little beat up, with tears, scratches and dust. I've restored it some in Photoshop for this version.

My uncle, as a puppet
The puppet is Slugger Ryan, created by Bil Baird, one of the first big puppeteers of TV back in the 50's. Bil (who spelled it that way "because I never pronounce the second one") was Jim Henson's mentor. Slugger played Honky Tonk piano and did droll monologs. He was modelled after my uncle, Graeme "Sandy" Macleod. Uncle Sandy was in advertising (He wrote such memorable lines as "us Tarryton smokers would rather fight than switch"), not a professional piano player, but he was a great lover of jazz, looked just like Slugger and could deliver a pretty mean droll monolog.
